Jacqueline Marie Hjornevik Cortese
Of Lockport, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the age of 54.
Jackie was the beloved mother of Ethan Warren—her pride, her joy, and her reason for everything. She was the cherished daughter of Judy (Larry) Donisch and Merle (Pam) Hjornevik. Loving sister to Rhonda (Dan Moody) Novak and Krystal (Jimmy) Warren and the world’s most entertaining aunt to Morgan (Chris) Biller, Mason (Nina) Novak, and Kaden, Addisyn, Braelyn, and Easton Warren. She was also a proud great-aunt to Laikyn, Sloane, Sawyer, and Graham, who always brought a smile to her face.
She shared her life with her loving partner Sam Gatti, and together they built a bond full of laughter, adventure, and care.

Born and raised in Rockdale, Jackie was known for her big heart, quick wit, and love for the people closest to her. Jackie loved Fort Myers Beach, boating in Hayward, 80s movies and music, and could spot a tanning bed from a mile away. She was rarely seen without a Monster in hand and never met a phone call she wanted to end—if you were lucky enough to get her talking, you knew to settle in for a while. Jackie had a big laugh, an even bigger heart, and a spirit that refused to be anything but real. She’d give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. Her only worry in life was love—finding it, giving it, and making sure the people around her felt it. She leaves behind a family that will miss her fiercely and remember her always for her humor, loyalty, and that one-of-a-kind energy that could light up any room.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Friday, October 17th from 3:00 p.m. until services at 5:30p.m. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, laughter, and love in Jackie’s memory.
