James Blackburn, 69, 'Will Be Deeply Missed And Fondly Remembered'
In keeping with his giving nature, Jim donated his body to science.

JOLIET, IL — James A. Blackburn, Jr., age 69, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 28, 2025—the same date his father James A. Blackburn, Sr., passed away in 2002. Born on January 27, 1956, in Joliet, Jim died peacefully at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, surrounded by his loving family. Jim had been diagnosed with colon cancer in 2024.
Jim is survived and loved by his devoted sister and brother-in-law Julie and Jim Lanagan, his nephew Patrick, his niece Kate, numerous cousins, and a wide circle of friends—both old and new—who came to know and love him.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Adelaide (nee Gleason) and James A. Blackburn, Sr., as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who held special places in his heart.
In keeping with his giving nature, Jim donated his body to science. His cremated remains will be interred at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Joliet, at a later date.
