Jerks Kept Throwing Stuff at Cars on 159th Street

No one was injured but at least four vehicles were damaged.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Dull-witted mean-spirited jerks kept throwing things at cars as they drove along 159th Street.

No one was injured but at least four vehicles were damaged.

All of the attacks were carried out between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. March 21, and all were on 159th between Cedar and Will Cook roads. The four damaged vehicles were heading west when they were struck by thrown objects.

In one instance, a driver hear a “loud thump,” stopped his vehicle and found a large crack running down the middle of the windshield and broken eggs on the roof, police said.

In another, a driver saw a water bottle thrown from a White Ford Ranger toward the front of his own vehicle. The Ranger was driven by a man and there was at least one male passenger.

The thrown water bottle damaged the vehicle’s grill.

In the third incident, a two-liter bottle full of water thrown from a passing vehicle shattered a windshield, and in the fourth, a motorist told police that “another vehicle was passing them at a high rate of speed when they heard a loud bang against their vehicle.”

“Upon returning to their residence they observed the driver's side headlight to be cracked and broken,” police said.
