Loving Mother and Grandmother

Joan Sheila Staszak

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Joan Sheila Staszak, who passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025 at the age of 88 years old.

Born on October 15, 1936 in Blue Island, Illinois, to Richard and Julia McGuire, Joan lived a long and fulfilling life. She was the heart and soul of our family, a source of unwavering love, wisdom, comfort and selflessness. Her warmth, kindness and sense of humor touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Joan was the proud mother of Martin, Tom, Peggy Staszak and Kathy (Ray) Shroba. Two grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Matthew and Katelyn Shroba. She found joy in the simple things in life. Joan was a room mom at Holy Family, manager for Joliet Softball Association, and was President of the Mother’s Club at Catholic High. She was a die hard Cubs fan and loved to sing Go Cubs Go. Her great legacy will be one of devotion to her family, unconditional love, generosity, selflessness and strength.
