According to Joliet police investigations Sgt. Tizoc Landeros, at 7:45 a.m. Friday, officers patrolling the 200 block of Center Street saw Arierous King in the doorway to an apartment. The officers knew King had an outstanding Will County arrest warrant for an aggravated robbery. King then went inside the building and into an apartment. The officers chased King to the second story, where King jumped through a window and tried running away, according to Landeros.

While searching for King, the Joliet Police received a call concerning someone jumping into a black Ford Explorer at Hickory and Western. The victim was “nudged” out of her vehicle as the carjacker climbed over into the front seats and drove off, police said.

The victim was unharmed, and her description of the carjacker matched King.

Officers found the Ford Explorer a short time later in the 900 block of Cora Street. Landeros said they learned that King stole property from the Ford Explorer and ran off, going into a house in the 900 block of North Center Street. The officers surrounded the property and called out the occupants. Everyone came outside except for King, police said.

According to Landeros, Tovar had been in the garage. He had a failure to appear warrant and was taken into custody. Police said Davis also came out of the house on North Center Street. Joliet's officers discovered Davis had an arrest warrant out of LaSalle County, so he was taken into custody.

Officers checked the house and found King in hiding inside, Landeros said.

King was taken into custody without further incident.

Once in custody, Joliet police noticed King suffered injuries from jumping out of the second story window. He was taken to Ascension St. Joseph Hospital, where he was treated and released. From there, he was booked into his new cell at the Will County Jail.
