Joliet Central Teacher Lynn Price Dies: Taught For Over 30 Years

She loved to read the ending of fictional novels first.

JOLIET, IL — Lynn M Price, 61, of Crest Hill, IL died peacefully at home on July 12th, 2025 with her wife by her side. Lynn was born in Joliet in 1963 to Bernadine and George NR Price. When she was just five years old, she read all of “War and Peace.”

This was just the beginning of a thirst for learning. After graduating university, she became an English/speech teacher at her alma mater, Joliet Central High School. She taught for over thirty years, including a role in tech prep. She greatly loved her students, the staff, and the school. After retiring for her health, she continued to impact the lives of her students through social media.

Lynn believed family was top priority. She always welcomed her loved ones with open arms. She always had the right advice, a helping hand, and a listening ear. She loved to watch TCM channel movies, war documentaries, and read any book she could get her hands on. She loved to read the ending of fictional novels first.

Lynn was preceded in death by her father, George Sr, her mother, Bernadine, and her brothers, George Jr and (in infancy) Michael Francis. Lynn is survived by her loving wife of twenty-seven years, Karla, her daughter Jen (Anthony), her new granddaughter, Alaina, her sister, Debbie (Dave), her nephews, Doug (Jennifer), Dennis, and Mike (Nicole), five great nieces and four great nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday July 30, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Rd. Joliet, IL 60435. After which, her Earthly remains will be held in the lovingly protective custody of her wife Karla.
