Joliet Father Of 6 Goes Without To Give Kids A Great Life, They Say

JOLIET, IL— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Joliet, meet Christopher Almaguer.

If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly, or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!

What makes your dad extra special?

My dad is extra special because he works almost 60 hours every single week. He supports 6 children on his own. My mom stays home to care for all of us while he works at Amazon in Crest Hill. Even though his back hurts and he walks around limping, he still tries to take us out to have fun on his few days off.

My dad is the most selfless person I know. He will go without so my siblings and I are comfortable. He means the world to us and deserves to be recognized and appreciated in the community. He is adored by the staff at Amazon. He’s such a hard worker that we can’t go around town without someone stopping us to tell us how wonderful he is. We can’t express our words and gratitude in just a Father’s Day card. He deserves so much more!

My dad and mom met in high school and have been together for almost 25 years now. His dedication and ambition in life motivate us to keep going no matter what. As two of us graduate this year, we want him to know that even though he’s not home a lot, we still see all the hard work he does for us and we can’t thank him enough. Dad, we love you so much! Thank you for being our role model!

Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?

My Dad deserves the spotlight because he’s worked so hard at Amazon, sometimes 60 hours a week. He supports six children. He never gives up on us.
