JOLIET, IL — As of Monday afternoon, the Joliet Police Department has not filed criminal charges in connection with an armed robbery at a Circle K gas station. However, police in New Lenox said 27-year-old Devion Smith, a Joliet man arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Domino's Pizza, may be involved in the incident, along with a third robbery in Morris.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, on Saturday, at 1:48 a.m., Joliet's officers responded to the Circle K gas station at 2422 Route 59 for an armed robbery. A man entered the store and displayed a handgun and demanded money from the store clerk. The robber ran from the store after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash. English described the Joliet suspect as a black male wearing a White Sox jacket, black jeans, black shoes, gloves and a face mask.

"Detectives have identified a person of interest, however no arrests have been made at this time. No injuries were reported," English revealed Monday afternoon.
