Joliet Losing Dick's Sporting Goods To Plainfield: WJOL
Joliet's news radio station, AM-1340, broke the news on Tuesday morning that Joliet will no longer be the home to a Dick's Sporting Goods.

JOLIET, IL — At a time when growth has come to a standstill and the city no longer staffs its economic development department, Joliet is losing its one and only Dick's Sporting Goods retail store to the village of Plainfield, according to Joliet's news radio station, AM-1340 WJOL.
Scott Slocum and his morning crew revealed on Tuesday morning that the Dick's Sporting Goods store on Plainfield Road/Route 30 will be vacating its store location once its lease expires. In the alternative, Dick's Sporting Goods will build a new storefront, over in the village of Plainfield boundaries of The Boulevards, the commercial redevelopment anchored by the Costco store, off Interstate 55.
