Joliet Man Escapes After his Chimney Fire Moves to Attic, Garage

A Joliet man safely escaped from his home on Tuesday after a fire he had reportedly started in the chimney moved to the attic.

JOLIET, IL - A Windsor Lane resident safely escaped a house fire Tuesday morning that spread to his attic and garage.

The man called the fire department around 8:30 a.m. after getting out of the home in the 3300 block of Windsor, according to a Herald-News report that cites Battalion Chief Laroy Aldridge. Flames reportedly moved from the chimney, to the attic and garage.
