Joliet Man Swings Knife At Group Of People, Goes To Jail: Joliet PD

During a gathering at a residence, Simpson became involved in an argument with another person and grew irate, Joliet police said.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet police revealed that a 27-year-old man from the community, Montee Simpson, is now in the Will County Jail charged with six counts of aggravated assault and one count of unlawful use of a weapon following a violent encounter in the 1200 block of John Street, over near Raynor Avenue.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 4:51 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 1200 block of John Street for a disturbance.

During a gathering at a residence, Simpson became involved in an argument with another person and grew irate. It is alleged that Simpson then pulled a knife and began swinging the knife at a group of people as they told him to leave, the arrest report showed.

No one was injured during the incident. Simpson was placed into custody without incident and the officers recovered Simpson’s knife, English added.
