Joliet Missing Person Found: 15-Year-Old Girl Tyeisha Knight Located Far Away From Joliet

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department informed Joliet Patch on Thursday that the missing 15-year-old girl who was last seen in the 6000 block of Winterhaven Drive has been found and she is safe. On Monday, the police said that Tyeisha Knight was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, orange jacket, black pants, and white and gray shoes.

The agency informed Patch on Thursday that Knight was located by law enforcement in Champaign County and that no criminal investigation is underway in regard to her leaving Joliet.

On Monday, Joliet police also posted the following as a "Community Reminder," reminding people that Joliet Police share info about missing persons at the request of the family members who are concerned for the individual's safety. Joliet Police only post details that the family has asked us to publicly share, and we respect the time when family feels comfortable sharing this info. Updates to this post are made when family confirms the location of the missing person. Our goal is help locate these missing persons and reunite them with their family; we ask the community to remain respectful and avoid making comments that do not contribute to this purpose."
