Joliet Mom Heals Others While Saving Critters, Big And Small

JOLIET, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your mom extra special?

She gives to every single human and animal on earth before thinking of herself. She has the biggest heart and I couldn’t imagine anyone loving creatures more than her. She always takes me on adventures like saving a barely-alive baby squirrel from the street just a few weeks ago and finding a rehab for us to hop in the car and drive 40 minutes south to save them. This is only one thing she does. In fact, she’s currently keeping baby bunnies safe in the yard.

She not only works in healthcare and heals people, but she also volunteers regularly at our local animal shelter and daycare Wags to Wishes/ Pound Town.

On top of all that she’s been a single mom her whole life and is there for us now as adults as she was when we were kids. She does it all — I don’t know how she does, but she handles business. We love and adore her. We would all be lost without her!

Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?

My mom deserves to know how much she is truly valued and loved, not only by her family, but her friends, coworkers, and strangers.
