JOLIET, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your mom extra special?
My mom is one of my best friends! We talk on the phone every day! We tell each other everything! She is why I am the mother I am today, without her I wouldn’t know the first thing about being a mother.
Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?
She has never had it easy. Even through all the hardships she has endured, she always put herself last. She lost her mother just a year ago and has to spend Mother’s Day without her. My mom deserves a smile to be put on her face.
