JOLIET, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your mom extra special?
She always puts everyone else before herself and is everyone's go-to person, which has to be exhausting at times. As adults, we lean on her now more than ever, her enthusiasm and support for us have never wavered.
Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?
She singlehandedly raised three kids while working, going back to school to get her Master's degree. She is a phenomenal gardener, friend and nana.
