Joliet Police Respond To Los Gavenos Bar On Hickory Street For Domestic Disturbance

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department made an arrest at a bar over the weekend, apprehending 39-year-old Romeoville resident Juan Segura-Castaneda on two crimes of domestic battery and one count of resisting arrest.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said that around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, fellow officers responded to the Los Gavenos bar at 1101 N, Hickory St. for a domestic disturbance.

The arrest report showed that Segura-Castaneda struck a woman in the face while both were in the bar. Segura-Castaneda and the woman then exited the bar, where the altercation continued. It is alleged that Segura-Castaneda also struck a second female when she attempted to intervene, English noted.

Officers encountered Segura-Castaneda sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot. Segura-Castaneda refused repeated orders by Officers to exit the vehicle, and he had to be pulled from the vehicle and was placed into custody following a brief struggle, English announced.

He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and was then transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
