
Aaron Morse announced Tuesday he was no longer employed by the Joliet Slammers.
"The position director of broadcasting and media relations was eliminated," he said.
If a similar position returns it will be seasonal position, he said.
Morse said he believes his position is not the only one that is being eliminated.
"I was told I was not the only one being let go, but I don’t know who else will be let go," he said.

"I love my time with the Slammers and I thank everyone for the opportunity," he said. "At this moment, I’m going to try to stay in the area. My longterm goal remains to be a major league baseball broadcaster, but it maybe taking a detour for the moment."
Over the past four years, Joliet's minor league baseball team has had three different ownership groups. A call to the current general manager Chris Franklin was not returned.

- The BBQ and Blues Festival returned to Joliet in 2013. It had been away since 2009 for a lack of sponsorship. For more information, watch the included video.
- Will County State's Attorney announced on its Facebook page that the Taylor Babec Community Blood Drive will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Will County State's Attorney's Office, 121 N. Chicago Street in downtown Joliet. Cookies, coffee, pulled pork sandwiches AND an Oberweis gift card will be available for donors.
- Need to plan ahead? EZ Auto Sales is teaming up with HART (Homeless Animal Rescue Team of IL NFP) and holding an Adoption Night here at E-Z Auto. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Aug. 9, the business will be cooking out hot dogs with chips and drinks for everyone to enjoy for free. There will also be a bounce house for the kids.
