Slammers Cut Broadcasting and Marketing Position; BBQ and Blues Bash Returns

Aaron Morse announced Tuesday he was no longer employed by the Joliet Slammers.

"The position director of broadcasting and media relations was eliminated," he said.

If a similar position returns it will be seasonal position, he said.

Morse said he believes his position is not the only one that is being eliminated.

"I was told I was not the only one being let go, but I don’t know who else will be let go," he said.

"I love my time with the Slammers and I thank everyone for the opportunity," he said. "At this moment, I’m going to try to stay in the area. My longterm goal remains to be a major league baseball broadcaster, but it maybe taking a detour for the moment."

Over the past four years, Joliet's minor league baseball team has had three different ownership groups. A call to the current general manager Chris Franklin was not returned.
