Joliet Council Makes Decision On Jack In The Box Restaurant
Jack in the Box representatives said it has been more than four decades since the 24/7 fast food joints have operated in Illinois.
JOLIET —The Joliet City Council voted 9-0 Tuesday night to approve a drive-thru permit to allow for the city's first Jack in the Box restaurant. It will open at the site of the vacant Arby's restaurant on Route 59, between Shorewood and Plainfield.
According to a City Council memo, on Sept. 26, Joliet's Department of Public Works received a formal request for a drive-thru facility for a proposed Jack in the Box Restaurant to be located at 2101 Route 59. The restaurant will be on the site of the former Arby’s Restaurant.
The building will be remodeled along with other site improvements. In July, Jack in the Box CEO Darin Harris told the Chicago Tribune the company was planing locations in New Lenox, Naperville, Plainfield, Carol Stream, Tinley Park, Lake in the Hills, Countryside and Chicago.
