Joliet's Murder-Suicide: $120,257 Raised Toward $210,000 Goal To Help 4 'Beautiful Children' Without Parents
Our family suffered an indescribable tragedy, leaving four beautiful children without a mother and father, reads the GoFundMe.

JOLIET, IL — More than $120,000 has been raised as part of a GoFundMe established in memory of Jennifer Heit, 40, who was tragically killed in a murder-suicide at her Plainfield area home, leaving behind four children between the ages of 3 and 16. Police say her husband fatally shot her before taking his own life. The children, found physically unharmed, are now in the care of relatives, according to GoFundMe's communications associate.
"On Monday, September 29th, our family suffered an indescribable tragedy, leaving four beautiful children without a mother and father. Our sweet Jennifer was taken from us by an act of domestic violence, after which her husband took his own life," wrote GoFundMe organizer Jennifer Hughes of Plainfield. "Our hearts are broken into a million pieces, and life as we knew it will never be the same without Jennifer in it. Her spirit will live on through her children, and we will forever cherish her memory."
The GoFundMe is called "Love and Stability for Four Grieving Children." As of noon, Wednesday, 728 people have made donations.
