Knife-Carrying Man Threatened to Hit Mom, Actually Did Hit Cop: Police
First he threatened to hit his mom, police said, then he went ahead and did hit a cop.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man carrying a kitchen knife in his pocket threatened to hit his mom before he went ahead and actually struck a cop, police said.
Officers twice went to the Gardner Street home of 40-year-old Derrick Bester Wednesday night because he was high on drugs and bothering people, police said.
In one instance, police said, Bester threatened to hit his 58-year-old mother, then left while carrying a kitchen knife in his pocket.

Officers making their second visit to the residence were still there when Bester returned, police said, and he decided to take off again.
An officer reportedly ordered Bester to stay but he kept going. The officer grabbed Bester’s arm, police said, and Bester hit him in the face.
