Latest House Fire: East Joliet Fire Protection District Responds To Scene

Mutual aid came from Lockport, New Lenox, Manhattan, Rockdale and Homer.

JOLIET, IL — The East Joliet Fire Protection District has released details regarding Monday afternoon's house fire in the 2000 block of Washington Street. The fire happened around 3 p.m. and when engine 51 arrived, crews noted that fire was prevalent in the two-story house on the east side of the structure. The occupants were not home when the fire happened.

Red Cross was notified to assist the residents because their home sustained extensive damage, East Joliet announced. Mutual aid came from Lockport, New Lenox, Manhattan, Rockdale and Homer. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
