Lifelong Joliet Resident, 30-Year Fire Dept. Employee Named New Deputy Chief
Joliet Fire Department officials settled last week on a new deputy fire chief who is far from new to the city.

JOLIET, IL — A lifelong resident with a 30-year tenure working for the city has been promoted within the Joliet Fire Department.
Joliet City Manager James D. Hock announced the appointment last week of Gregory Blaskey to the position of deputy fire chief. This month marks Blaskey's 30th anniversary serving the department in capacities including that of firefighter, paramedic, apparatus operator, lieutenant and captain, according to a city of Joliet news alert.
A graduate of Joliet West High School and Joliet Junior College, Blaskey has two police officer sons.
