Man, 48, Jumps To His Death At St. Joe's Hospital: Joliet Police

Final cause and manner will be determined following the autopsy, police and toxicological reports, Coroner Laurie Summers pointed out.

JOLIET — A 48-year-old man from Channahon lost his life on Monday on the campus of Joliet's hospital. His body was found in the parking lot at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Joliet.

Will County Coroner Laurie Summers announced that the death of Louis Mau is being treated as a fall from heights. Mau was pronounced dead at 5:58 p.m. in the parking lot located in the loading dock area of Accession St. Joseph’s Medical Center from an "apparent fall from heights," the coroner announced.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English told Joliet Patch that the 48-year-old man jumped to his death from the top of the parking structure at Ascension St Joseph Medical Center on Monday afternoon.

"It has deemed to be a suicide and no suspicious circumstances have been discovered in this incident," English pointed out.

In Tuesday's press release, Summers said that the Joliet Police Department is now investigating the incident and an autopsy was performed on Tuesday. Final cause and manner will be determined following Autopsy, Police and Toxicological reports, Summers relayed.
