MYSO Brings "Classic Warhorses" Music to the Community
MYSO will present their fall orchestra concerts on October 15 and 19, 2025

Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) presents its ‘Classic Warhorses’ concert Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 7:30pm at the St. Charles Borromeo Convocation Hall on the Romeoville campus of Lewis University. The concert is free and open to the public, with donations accepted online and at the door. The concert will be repeated on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 3:00pm at the Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Auditorium, with $10 tickets at the door or online.
The orchestra will perform its 'Classic Warhorse' fall concert under the direction of Peter Lipari. Maestro Lipari is the Director of Orchestras at Joliet Township High School and Music Director of the West Suburban Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Singers, and Festival Orchestra.
The concert program will feature the widely classic and familiar works for orchestra including Morning, Noon, and Night in Vienna (Suppe), Orpheus in the Underworld (Offenbach), the Prelude and Siciliana from Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, and Coleridge-Taylor's Petite Suite de Concert.

Founded in 1959 the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra has resided in Will County since 1991. Players in MYSO come from area high schools and middle schools, as well as Lewis University and Joliet Junior College.
MYSO rehearses every Wednesday evening that school is in session from 6:15 to 8:45 at Lewis University. The orchestra currently has openings in their clarinet, bassoon, horn and string sections. For more concert and audition information, visit www.mysomusic.org.
