Naked Woman Report In Downtown Joliet Leads To 4 Charges: Police
Joliet police say they later learned that Ashleigh Nussbaum had punched and scratched two security guards at St Joseph Medical Center.

JOLIET, IL — Earlier this month, Joliet police officers responded to the property of a downtown Joliet law office near the corner of Jefferson Street and North Chicago Street for a report of a naked woman in the area. The call has resulted in four criminal charges for 41-year-old Rockdale resident Ashleigh Nussbaum.
Joliet police had her arrested and later released on a notice to appear at the Will County Courthouse — which is only one block away — on charges of public indecency, aggravated battery to a peace officer and two counts of aggravated battery to a security guard.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the incident happened more than a week ago.

The officer located Nussbaum near West Jefferson Street and North Joliet Street, where Nussbaum began to pull away and struck the officer in the face when they attempted to detain her, according to police.
Nussbaum was placed into custody following this struggle. Based upon Nussbaum’s erratic behavior, she was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department for an evaluation.
Joliet police said they later learned that Nussbaum had punched and scratched two security guards at St Joseph Medical Center. Nussbaum was released from the hospital on June 11.
She was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a notice to appear.
Although Nussbaum did not go to the Will County Jail this time, she has been kept in the Will County Jail four previous times in recent years: three days in April, as well as 2024, 2023 and 2021.
