New Details in Drug-Induced Homicide Case
A Rockdale man allegedly caused a Joliet woman's death by providing her with opioid pain medication.

Emily Buckley was 22 when she died on Aug. 26. Her death was caused by hydromorphone, an opioid pain medication, provided to her by 21-year-old Shawn Eikey of Rockdale, according to a criminal complaint on file in Will County court.
Eikey was charged with Buckley’s drug-induced homicide Dec. 30, but soon after the case was put under seal and removed from public view.
Eikey remains at large. The warrant for his arrest carries a $500,000 bond.
Eikey provided hydromorphone to both Buckley and a man named Daniel Howe, the complaint said, but only Buckley died.
Eikey was released from the Will County jail just two weeks before he was charged with Buckley’s drug-induced homicide.
In October, Eikey was charged with two counts of the unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Eikey allegedly delivered hydromorphone on two occasions, once in May and again in June.
Eikey pleaded guilty to one of the two counts in December and was sentenced to four years probation.
