New Restaurant Alert: Rockdale Pancake House Opening Soon

ROCKDALE — Even though Rockdale lost the legendary fine-dining institution, Syl's Restaurant & Lounge, more than a year ago, this little community south of Joliet continues to flourish with its restaurant and bar scene. In January Joliet Patch profiled the enormously popular Roc City Bar & Grill and its "legendary" beef roll. Now, just one block away from Roc City, someone is opening the Rockdale Pancake House.

Banners draped across the building advise passersby that the Rockdale Pancake House is "coming soon." How soon? That remains a mystery.

Rockdale Pancake House will occupy the two-story brick building at 400 Moen Avenue.

Signs in the window alert people that the Rockdale Pancake House will stay open seven days a week, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

On April 11, the village of Rockdale issued a building permit allowing for remodeling at the future home of the Rockdale Pancake House.
