New Toll Rates Set for Houbolt Road Bridge Extension In Joliet
The Houbolt Road Extension operates the 1.5-mile Houbolt Road Extension, which crosses the Des Plaines River.

JOLIET, IL — On Monday, the Houbolt Road Extension issued a press release revealing that new toll rates are taking effect on April Fool's Day. This is no joke. The new toll prices that you will be paying are for real.
According to the press release, the Houbolt Road Extension continues to offer the lowest rate to drivers who travel with a valid and funded I-PASS/E-ZPass. New standard travel fees take effect at midnight on Monday, April 1.

Class 1 $2.15

Class 1: $6.15
Class 2: $8.25
Class 3: $12.50
Next month, the Houbolt Road Extension will mark one year of providing the most direct route between I-80 and the CenterPoint Intermodal Center, saving drivers time, miles, and costs over alternative routes. The private bridge was built and continues to operate without any local, state, or federal funding.
