No. 1 Most Wanted Fugitive Returned to Joliet to Answer For Lewd, Violent Rampage: Cops

He's at the county jail on a $1.5 million bond.

JOLIET, IL — The former first fugitive for the Illinois Department of Corrections was returned to Joliet where he will answer for an alleged one-man crime wave on the near West Side.

U.S. Marshals captured Sidney Moore-Walters — the No. 1 most wanted fugitive sought by the Illinois Department of Corrections — back in March. Moore-Walters, 39, topped the most wanted list as an alleged parole absconder.

Moore-Walters was also wanted locally in connection with an alleged lewd and violent rampage outside the Sunshine Food Mart on Wilcox Street in Joliet.

In the July incident, Moore-Walters allegedly punched a man in the face outside Sunshine Food Mart, broke a window, damaged furniture at tax preparation business LTG Services on Wilcox, vandalized a woman’s Chevy Blazer, and pulled down his boxer shorts, exposing himself to “arouse or satisfy (his) sexual desire,” according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court.

Moore-Walters was apprehended in Ohio. The Marshals Service hunted him down as part of its involvement in the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. The Department of Corrections also belongs to the task force.
