The old man posted $100,000 bond for his release.

An old man wanted by the FBI for allegedly possessing child pornography surrendered to the law, posted bond and was set free.

Arnold Spurgash, 77, was released on a $100,000 bond June 6. He turned himself in at the Lockport Police Department.

Spurgash, a Homer Glen resident, was charged with four counts of child pornography. He was investigated by the FBI but agency spokeswoman Joan M. Hyde refused to provide any information about the case.

All four of the digital images Spurgash was charged with possessing depicted a naked girl — apparently younger than 13 — engaged in sex acts with a grown man, according to a criminal indictment filed Monday in Will County court.

The images were stored on a thumb drive and one, “identified as 137.crybaby.jpg,” showed an “adult male placing his penis in the exposed vagina of the child,” the indictment said.
