Over 30 Bullets Strike Joliet Business During Daytime, Arrest Made

JOLIET— A month after the Splish Splash Laundromat, two empty vehicles and a nearby brick wall at 1220 Richards Street were struck by gunfire as more than 30 bullets were fired, Joliet police have made their first arrest for the violence, capturing 18-year-old Bolingbrook teen Latrell Woodall.

Woodall is now in the Will County Jail where he's charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a person not eligible to obtain a FOID card.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:

During an extensive investigation into the shooting on April 18, at 12:37 p.m., in the 1200 block of Richards Street, Joliet Police detectives identified Woodall as their shooting suspect.

On April 26, detectives obtained an arrest warrant and on Wednesday morning, Woodall was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force around 7 a.m. at a residence in the 400 block of Yorkshire Square in Bolingbrook.

Later on Wednesday, Joliet Police Detectives, the Fugitive Task Force and the Will County Sheriff’s Office, raided the house in Bolingbrook and a rifle and ammunition were recovered.

The Joliet Police Department thanked the US Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, Will County Sheriff’s Office, and the Will County State’s Attorney Office for their assistance in this case.

"This case remains under active investigation," English declared.
