Partier Popped In Face With Bottle After Confronted By Mob: Cops

The police said they found the man bleeding in the street.

JOLIET, IL — A man hanging out at a party on Wilcox Street took a shot in the face with a bottle early Sunday morning, police said.

Officers reportedly found the the 23-year-old man bleeding on Wilcox near Douglas Street shortly before 12:30 a.m.

The man told officers he was at a party when a group of men and women approached him, police said. One of the men then hit him in the face with a bottle.

The man was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.

A witness came forward and said he could identify the bottle-wielding attacker, police said. Officers then reportedly tracked down Steven Gutierrez, 31, and took him into custody.

Both the witness and the bleeding man identified Gutierrez as the attacker, police said.

Gutierrez was booked into the Will County jail.
