Plainfield Party Gets Out Of Control After Someone With Crowbar Starts Hitting People: Joliet Police
As officers approached, they said they were stopped near the entry door from the garage by Angela Borla, who placed her hands on an officer.

JOLIET, IL — A neighborhood party in the Plainfield area of Joliet was the backdrop for chaos on Labor Day Weekend as Joliet police hauled away two members of the Borla family in handcuffs after someone else was accused of chasing after people at the party, hitting them with a crowbar.
James R. Borla, 39, of Chicago, and Angela Borla, 39, of Plainfield, were both arrested, booked and released on a notice to appear on charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, obstructing a police officer and resisting a police officer.
According to Joliet police spokesman Tizoc Landeros, at approximately 11 p.m. Sunday, Joliet officers responded to the 2800 block of Sierra Avenue in Plainfield for a man striking people at a party with a crowbar.

Officers received information that the suspect was inside the residence.
As officers approached, they were stopped near the entry door from the garage by Angela Borla, who placed her hands on an officer in an attempt to prevent entry, Landeros said.

She was told multiple times not to place her hands on the officers, Landeros said. As they attempted to enter, Angela again put her hands on an officer, at which point her hands were swiped away, causing her to fall, according to police. When officers attempted to take her into custody, she resisted by tensing her arms and preventing them from being handcuffed, the arrest report showed.
"During this time, James Borla obstructed the arrest by shoving an officer as they attempted to arrest Angela. Officers took James to the ground, where he also resisted by tensing his arms and preventing handcuffing," Landeros said.
Both James and Angela were eventually restrained, taken into custody, and transported to the Joliet Police booking area. They were processed and later released on notices to appear without further incident.
The suspect with the crowbar was later identified and located at his residence. However, he did not step outside to meet with officers, police said. This incident remains under investigation.
