Public Invited To Vet's Funeral, No Family Or Friends Attending
The memorial service is extending an invitation to the public for the vet's funeral, as there are no family or friends attending.
ELWOOD, IL — A veteran without family is being interred Friday at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, and the funeral service is offering the public a chance to honor him.
George Charles Babcock Jr. served in the U.S. Army from April 1963 to May 1965, according to WJOL. The memorial website says he lived from Feb. 17, 1940 to June 4, 2019.
WJOL reported he has no family or friends attending the service, leading the Dignity Memorial funeral service to invite the public.

According to the Dignity Memorial website, Babcock's services will be Friday, July 19, at 2:30 p.m. at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd.
