Peterson, 62, was charged with plotting the murder of Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow from behind the walls of Downstate Menard Correctional Center.

Glasgow got Peterson sent to Menard on a 38-year prison sentence for drowning his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

Glasgow testified at Peterson’s trial last week. He said he has received death threats before and is really concerned more for the safety of his family than for himself.

Peterson is never heard on the recordings explicitly ordering Glasgow’s murder, and not even the allegations mention anything about him hoping to harm Glasgow’s family.

Closing arguments in the case were scheduled for Tuesday morning and the jury was expected to begin deliberations that afternoon.
