Revoked License Motorist Crashes, Hit With Felony DUI: Joliet Police

JOLIET, IL — A 41-year-0ld Joliet man, Carlos Moreno, who already had his driving privileges revoked by the courts because of his past drinking and driving convictions, was arrested again on Friday evening, following a DUI crash in which his children were in the vehicle, according to Joliet police.

As a result of his latest arrest, Moreno was released on a notice to appear in court stemming from charges of Aggravated DUI – Driving While Privileges Revoked for DUI, Aggravated DUI – Violation for the Third or Subsequent Time, two counts of Aggravated DUI –Transporting a Person Under the Age of 16, DUI, DUI – BAC .08 or More and two counts of Endangering the Life for Health of a Child.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the Moreno arrest unfolded Joliet police responded to West Washington Street and North Center Street for a crash just after 8:30 p.m.

The Ford F150 truck driven by Moreno was southbound on North Center Street when he struck an unoccupied Jeep Limited parked on the street, according to English. Officers found Moreno and his vehicle parked down the street following the crash. A Joliet Fire Department ambulance responded, but here were no injuries reported.

Police said Moreno exhibited behaviors consistent with alcohol impairment. Moreno was placed into custody without incident after undergoing field sobriety tests.

Officers determined that Moreno’s sons, ages 9 and 13, were passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash, according to English.

Moreno had a revoked driver’s license for a past DUI arrest. Moreno was also cited for driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
