Sex Offender Jailed on Child Pornography Charges

The Joliet man had already been convicted of possessing child pornography when he was caught with more child pornography, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man previously convicted of possessing child pornography was charged with convincing two underage girls to appear in sex videos.

Juan Nunez, 31, was already on the state’s sex offender registry for his 2009 child pornography conviction. He was charged Friday with two counts of class X child pornography and one class one felony.

The class X counts involve Nunez going online to “solicit two underage girls to appear in two separate digital videos, one in which the victim was naked and the other in which the victim fondled herself,” according to a statement released by Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow’s office.

The lesser charge relates to Nunez’s alleged “possession of a child pornography video that he obtained from the Internet,” the statement said.

Nunez faces up to 30 years in prison. He works at a sod farm, according to a warrant for his arrest.

Nunez was also charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

Police raided Nunez’s Youngs Avenue home and “seized a computer and other electronic devices,” according to the state’s attorney’s office.
