Sexual Abuser Apprehended, Caught With Different Underage Girl: Cops

BRAIDWOOD, IL — An ex-convict sexually abused a 15-year-old for five months, police said, and when he was captured, was hanging out with a different underage girl.

Jason Escalante, 22, was apprehended Wednesday night at Goodrich Park. When he was arrested, Escalante had a 17-year-old girl in his car, police said.

Escalante was booked into the Will County jail on three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of sexual exploitation of a child. His bond was set at $200,000.

Escalante was released from prison just a year and two months ago. He had been sentenced to four years and nine months for burglary.

Escalante was still on parole when he was arrested. He was charged with violating the terms of his supervised release.

Escalante sexually abused the 15-year-old from September through January, according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court.
