JOLIET, IL — Nearby residents were asked to shelter in place Friday morning while police conducted an "active investigation" in the 1800 block of Delrose Street.

Joliet police issued an alert around 9 a.m. saying officers were investigating in the area. According to a Joliet Police news release, members of the Joliet Police Special Operations Squad, Tactical Unit, and Crisis Negotiator Team executed a search warrant at the home as part of an ongoing investigation.

By 10:30 a.m., police said the situation was resolved and that the shelter-in-place order has been lifted.

"Further details will be provided once when available," police said on social media late Friday morning. But Friday afternoon, their news release said no additional information would be released "as this case remains under active investigation."

It's the second time this week that a neighborhood has been under a shelter-in-place order. On Wednesday, police asked nearby residents to shelter in the 5500 block of Meadowbrook Street after receiving a 911 call from a man indicating someone was potentially threatening another person in the home with a gun.

That issue was also resolved, and the 911 caller, a 47-year-old Plainfield resident, was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. A shotgun was recovered, but police said that "no one was in danger and the 47-year-old male may have experienced a mental health episode that precipitated this incident."
