Sidelines Sports Bar Parking Lot Trouble: 2 Arrested By Joliet Police

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced that two young women were arrested over the weekend following problems in the parking lot of the Sidelines Sports Bar in the Marycrest shopping center.

Geneva Everett, 26, of Chicago was arrested and released on a notice to appear on two charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer and two counts of obstructing/resisting a peace officer. As for 28-year-old Keymari Reed of Joliet, she was arrested and released on a notice to appear on charges of criminal trespass and obstructing/resisting a peace officer.

According to the Joliet police arrest reports, at 2:11 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the parking lot of Sidelines Sports Bar for a disturbance. The officers learned the bar was closing and there were numerous cars and people in the lot. Officers ordered people to leave the parking lot. Reed was identified as a driver of a vehicle and Everett was identified as a passenger, according to police.

Police spokesman Dwayne English said Reed had not left the premises despite being told, and the officers advised her she was under arrest. Eventually, she exited the vehicle and was placed into custody following a brief struggle with officers, English said.

An officer attempted to place Everett into custody, at which time she kicked an officer, the arrest reports show. Everett was placed into custody following a brief struggle, police said.
