Six Corners Road Work: Black Road, Ruby Street Shutdown Starts Tuesday
The pavement work is part of the Plainfield Road Water Main Improvement Project.

JOLIET, IL — Black Road and Ruby Street will close starting Tuesday, July 8, as part of new pavement construction for the Plainfield Road Water Main Improvement Project, the City of Joliet said Monday.
According to the city, the work will be completed on Tuesday, July 15. "One lane of traffic in each direction on Plainfield Road and Raynor Avenue will be maintained during the work," the city said in a community alert. "All traffic through the Six Corners intersection on Black Road and Ruby Street will be closed. A detour of Black Road and Ruby Street will be in place during construction. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes for the duration of the work."
Residents are asked to drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone.

The new water main installation began in April. Previously, Raynor Avenue was closed for two weeks in June as part of the project.
