
JOLIET, IL — The Slammers signed three another three players off the Frontier League tryouts.
The tryouts were Monday and Tuesday at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, the home of the Gateway Grizzlies.
Steven Pollakov, Brian McKenna and Dane McFarland made the team.

Pollakov, a Chicago native and catcher, attended the University of Hawaii. He played for the Pioneer League's Great Falls Voyagers last season.
Brian McKenna, another catcher, played last season for the Traverse City Beach Bums, the Utica Unicorns and the Water Town Bucks. He is a native New Yorker and played college ball for Post University in Connecticut, John Jay College in New York and at Seton Hall.

Outfielder Dane McFarland was drafted out of high school by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 12th round of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft. McFarland was in the Diamondbacks system for the next three seasons.
The Slammers open the season May 12 at the Lake Erie Crushers before returning home to open in Joliet May 16 against the Beach Bums.
