Spirit Halloween Takes Over Louis Joliet Mall: SCARY Photos
Now that the old Toys R Us is becoming a Planet Fitness gym, Spirit Halloween found a new seasonal location taking over the empty Carsons.
JOLIET, IL — After being empty the past several years, the vacant Carsons store at the Louis Joliet Mall is now being haunted by thousands of creepy costumes and creatures. Spirit Halloween has taken over the former Carsons at the Louis Joliet Mall.
It's on the backside of the mall near the Hooters restaurant.
Spirit Halloween is now open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Once October hits, employees said their new Spirit Halloween storefront for Joliet will stay open for even longer hours.

In recent years, the Joliet Spirit Halloween occupied the old Toys R Us store near Anthony's Pub, but the Toys R Us property was sold. Planet Fitness is remodeling the building in hopes of relocating its fitness gym from Plainfield Road to the Toys R Us location on Voyager Lane.
During Tuesday's interview, Spirit Halloween employees said the key for success is getting the word out that Spirit Halloween is now located inside the Carsons.

"It's Carsons, Louis Joliet Mall," one of the employees emphasized. "We also have a lot of new decor. There's Barbie movie stuff."
Spirit Halloween will remain open at the Carsons location through Nov. 1.
