Star Student: Joliet Teen Maintains Positive, Comeback Attitude

Joliet, Illinois — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Lamar has exhibited the ability to adapt to any and all circumstances while maintaining a positive and comeback attitude. Lamar’s teachers and school administrators have recognized him as someone who works very hard to achieve his goals while holding a stellar GPA(4.07). Lamar is good at staying focused on his athletics as well as redirecting his teammates when they lose sight of the goal. He is a positive role model at home for his siblings, at school to his friends and peers, and to his cousins and extended relatives.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Beneath his large stature still resides a young boy who enjoys video games, playing outside, helping others, and a good game of chess.
