JOLIET, IL — A long-time Joliet convicted criminal who has committed numerous domestic battery crimes over the years was arrested last week in what could be one of the strangest Joliet Police Department arrests in quite a long time.

Officers took 44-year-old Christopher Odrowski away in handcuffs, arresting him on charges of criminal trespass. Odrowski spent most of 2024 in the Will County Jail, but he has not been detained at the county jail at any point this year.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:55 a.m. Nov. 13, the officers responded to a house in the 700 block of Clement Street for a disturbance in the home.

During their investigation of this disturbance, officers were checking the premises and found Odrowski inside the detached garage, according to police.

"It was believed that Odrowski may have been a past resident of the home but had moved out prior to this date. He was not believed to be involved with the initial reason officers were called to the home," English stressed.

Odrowski was placed into custody without incident. He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a notice to appear in Will County's Courthouse. The initial disturbance at the residence is still under investigation, English noted.

Back in 2019, a Will County grand jury indicted Odrowski on crimes of aggravated domestic battery, three crimes of domestic battery and one count of violating bail-bond. He was accused of trying to strangle a woman inside his household on Aug. 16, 2019, the indictment read. Prosecutors also noted that Odrowski had prior domestic battery convictions in Will County from 2004 and two separate ones from 2016.
