Stun Gun Used By Joliet Man On His Female Victim: Joliet Police
It is believed at this time that 35-year-old Martel Poole used a stun gun on the victim and bit her on the neck, Joliet police said.

JOLIET — A 35-year-old Joliet man who comes from Magnolia Drive is now lodged in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Martel Poole used a stun gun and bit his female victim over the weekend on the city's near west side.
Poole was taken away in handcuffs and brought to the jail where he's charged with aggravated battery, unlawful use of a weapon and domestic battery.
Sunday's incident happened while most of the Joliet citizens were asleep.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:
- At 4:44 a.m., officers responded to the area of Hickory Street and Western Avenue for a domestic disturbance.
- Officers found Poole and the woman, who appeared injured. While Poole and the victim were previously in a parked vehicle at Riverwalk Homes, Poole grabbed her and tried to hold her down, according to police.
- The victim got out of the vehicle and tried to enter a nearby building, but police said Poole then grabbed her arms to stop her from going into the building. Police believe Poole then used a stun gun on the victim and bit her on the neck.
- Poole was placed into custody without incident. Officers recovered a stun gun from Poole’s pocket.
- The victim refused medical attention.
