Expert Ideas: What to Serve for Super Bowl

We know a lot of you are going to throw their own parties - here are recipes for the standards and ideas for new, healthy alternatives.

This weekend is Super Bowl Sunday. While we know many of you were rooting for teams that did not make it into the big game, we also know you still will be glued to your television Sunday, watching a great game, great commercials and a great halftime show. We wanted to give you a resource to prepare all the food your friends and family will no doubt look forward to eating. So, just click on the links below to take you to the site with the recipe.

Super Easy

Healthy Alternatives

  • Fox News offers this video with alternatives for the traditional snacks, such as substituting cucumbers or carrots for chips and hummus for more high fat snacks such as sour cream dips or guacamole.
  • This Superbowl Snack Mix has cashews and cranberries for a healthy, salty-sweet mix. You have to scroll to the bottom of the page for the recipe.

New Ideas

  • This site has recipes for wings, but also for cupcakes made with beer. I also love their idea to put 7-layer-dip in individual cups.
  • And finally, click on this link to get to the site that gives you recipes for empanadas for game day as well as jalapeno poppers with cilantro lime dip.
