JOLIET, IL — As country music star Brett Eldredge took center stage as the Joliet Park District's country music headliner during the Taste of Joliet, several Joliet police officers were busy elsewhere around Memorial Stadium, arresting 19-year-old Joliet citizen Jakaila Z. Rancifer on multiple charges, including aggravated battery to a peace officer, obstructing a police officer, resisting a police officer and criminal trespass to property.

Joliet police spokesman Tizoc Landeros said Rancifer's arrest happened about 10 p.m. on Saturday as officers assigned to a special detail in the 3000 block of West Jefferson Street encountered her. The officers instructed Rancifer to leave the premises, but she refused to comply. During the attempt to take her into custody, Rancifer pulled her arms away and tucked them into her midsection, continuing to disregard the officers' commands.

As a result, she was taken to the ground, Landeros pointed out.
