The teen's friends told him they could get him a better deal before taking his money, police said.

A 14-year-old boy was robbed of his marijuana money by two pals who assured him they could get him a better deal on the drug, police said.

The 14-year-old was hanging out with an unidentified 17-year-old and 18-year-old Tyrell Beavers near the corner of Bazz and Ruth Fitzgerald drives shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday.

The young man was carrying a large amount of money, police said, and told his pals he was on his way to buy some marijuana. Beavers and the other teen reportedly told him they could get him a better deal on the pot.
