Teen Shot on Des Plaines Street Project Basketball Court
When the cops got there, all they found were some basketballs and various other abandoned property.

A 15-year-old was shot in the shoulder while he was on the Des Plaines Street project basketball court Sunday afternoon.
Police responding to a call of gunfire shortly after 4 p.m. found nothing on the court but a couple basketballs and various abandoned items of personal property.
Officers ultimately tracked down a witness who told of hearing a single gunshot and then seeing everyone on the basketball court flee the area.

Soon after, police got a call from Presence St. Joseph Medical Center about a teen arriving at the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
Officers interviewed the teen and he told them a shot fired from a vehicle heading west on McDonough Street got him in the shoulder. The young man was unable to describe the vehicle or to guess at who may have shot him, police said.

The teen reportedly told police he had no idea who may have been trying to kill him and maintained that he is not having any difficulties with anybody.
